We are recruiting caregivers from three-generation families!
What is MICROS-Early?
It stands for “Mindfulness and Intergenerational Coparenting Relationships Online Study in Early Childhood Ages 2–6”!
In MICROS-Early, we will examine family relationships among parents, grandparents, and young children in multigenerational households.

Are you a parent of a child (ages 2–6) and your parent helps you with your child?
You may be eligible to participate in a 40-minute online survey and receive $20 for your time!
Why are we doing this study?
Across the United States, 1 in 10 children live in households where grandparents play an active role in daily childcare activities such as meals, pick-up and drop-off, and outdoor play.
Three-generation families can provide children multiple secure attachment figures, and the positive relationships with the parent and grandparent can have long-lasting impacts on children’s health and socioemotional development.
Some families also face unique challenges as they navigate different caregiving roles, financial pressures, and intergenerational boundaries. They may struggle with challenging family communication.
The MICROS-Early Project explores how mindfulness can serve as a protective factor empowering parents, grandparents, and children.
The findings from this study will inform the development and service tailored for multigenerational families.
